Herbalife Becomes Sponsor of Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon; Company Also Signs Three Professional Brazilian Triathletes

The championship, which is comprised of seven phases that takeplace in four Brazilian cities, will kick off on March 19, 2006 inSantos. Each race has approximately 900 participants, who come fromBrazil's 27 states and from various South American countries.

The Brazilian Triathlon Trophy ("Trofeu Brasil") is a competitionin which athletes accumulate points during its seven phases and thewinners are announced at the end of the competition.

The event's seven phases are as follows:

-- 1st Phase - March 19, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 2nd Phase - April 23, Sao Paulo, at University of Sao Paulo (USP)

-- 3rd Phase - June 11, Goiania, at Alphaville

-- 4th Phase - August 20, Belo Horizonte, at Nova Lima

-- 5th Phase - September 24, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 6th Phase - October 22, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 7th Phase - December 3, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

The event is divided into two main categories, professionals andamateurs. Amateurs are split by age group, handicap status and relayteams. The professional category requires qualification and athletesrace in Olympic distances: 1500m swimming, 40K biking and 10k running.Amateurs do sprint distances: 750m swimming, 20K biking and 5Krunning.

This event represents Herbalife's first major sponsorship deal inSouth America.

In addition to sponsoring this event, Herbalife also signedsponsorship deals with three Brazilian triathletes:

Guto Antunes, 27, an Olympic distance athlete who has beencompeting since 1999. In 2005, he was in the Top 10 of the Procategory of Trofeu Brasil Championship. This year, in addition toTrofeu Brasil, he will compete in a World Cup ITU race in Brasilia andMalibu Triathlon.

Luis Felipe Granato, 22, professional triathlete and businessadministration student, who has been competing since 1999. He placedsecond in the 2005 Trofeu Brasil Triathlon Circuit - Elite age groupcategory, and is one of the youngest athletes of the pro category.This year he will also compete in the World Triathlon Championship ITUin Lausanne, Switzerland.

Fabio Carvalho, 26, professional triathlete and hoteladministration student. He placed third in the 2004 and 2005 TrofeuBrasil Triathlon Circuit - pro category and second in the 2006International Triathlon of Santos. In 2006, in addition to TrofeuBrasil, he will compete in the Los Angeles Triathlon.

Herbalife employees, independent distributors, friends, andfamilies will be taking part as "Team Herbalife," either individuallyor on relay teams.
