Honda Prices 2016 HR-V SUVs Below $20,000

(RTTNews) - Honda is foraying into the subcompact SUV segment with a new model that has affordability and mileage among its selling points.

The 2016 Honda HR-V small SUV will be available to consumers from May 15 at a starting price of $19,995, aiming to win a new generation of customers in the booming small crossover segment.

American Honda Motor Corp expects to sell 70,000 units of the HR-V small SUV.

Standard features and technologies include 17-inch alloy wheels, push-button electric parking brake, rear view camera with guidelines, Pandora radio and Bluetooth Hands Free Link.

As for mileage, the entry HR-V will get an estimated 25 miles per gallon in cities, 34 mpg on highways, and 28 mpg combined when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

The HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that generates 141 horsepower.

The vehicle will be available in LX, EX and EX-L Navi trims and the manual transmission available on LX and EX models with two-wheel drive.

The most expensive model, the EX-L Navi will cost $25,470, and the all-wheel drive version $26,720.
