I-play and Elephant Entertainment Announce Second James Patterson Interactive Gaming Release

I-play, Oberon Media’s publishing division and the world’s leading multi-platform casual games publisher, along with Elephant Entertainment, a division of THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI), today announced the second interactive gaming title based on James Patterson’s book series: Women’s Murder Club: A Darker Shade of Grey. Created by best-selling author James Patterson, in collaboration with award-winning game designer Jane Jensen, this new game follows the success of its predecessor, Women’s Murder Club: Death in Scarlet. It is a casual adventure game based on Patterson’s massively popular Women’s Murder Club novels and is scheduled to be available online in February 2009, with the retail version for Windows PC and Mac scheduled to be available in stores in March 2009.

"Women’s Murder Club: Death in Scarlet’s success is a testament to I-play’s ability to capture the essence of a brand and convey it as an exciting interactive offering that resonates with fans,” said Don Ryan, Chief Operating Officer, Oberon Media, I-play’s parent company. "With this new game, Women’s Murder Club: A Darker Shade of Grey, we hope to elevate the franchise further through a new, deeper storyline, as well as a more adventurous style of gameplay.”

"Thanks to the brilliant story-telling of James Patterson and backed by an innovative style of play, our first game engaged millions of players and established a new standard for the genre,” said Wim Stocks, president of Elephant Entertainment and corporate vice president of strategic partnerships for THQ. "We are excited to build on that legacy with the introduction of Women’s Murder Club: A Darker Shade of Grey.”

Women’s Murder Club: A Darker Shade of Grey, the sequel to the tremendously successful Women’s Murder Club: Death in Scarlet seek-and-find mystery, is a suspenseful casual adventure game with new features including dialogue with characters, a point system and greater adventures. The game is being developed and published online by I-play and will be published at retail by Elephant Entertainment.
