IAMGOLD Q1 Results Miss Estimates

(RTTNews) - IAMGOLD Corp. (IAG, IMG.TO) reported net earnings for the first quarter of US$24.1 million or US$0.06 per share, compared to US$3.7 million or US$0.01 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Loss from continuing operations for the first quarter 2015 was US$16.5 million or US$0.04 per share, compared to a loss from continuing operations of US$14.1 million or US$0.04 per share in the prior year quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net loss for the first quarter was US$26.7 million or US$0.07 per share, compared to adjusted net earnings of US$12.0 million or US$0.03 per share in the first quarter of last year.

Revenue from continuing operation for the first quarter rose 13% to US$244.7 million from US$217.3 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of US$0.04 per share on revenue of US$246.91 million for the first quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
