Indian Shares Edge Higher In Early Trade

(RTTNews) - Indian shares were moving higher in early trade on Monday, with underlying sentiment remaining supported somewhat by improving earnings visibility and expectations of a more supportive global liquidity environment going forward.

The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 380 points, or half a percent, at 78,143 while the broader NSE Nifty index rose 110 points, or half a percent, to 24,381.

Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, IDBI Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank rose between half a percent and 2 percent after announcing their business updates for the first quarter ended June.

Kotak Mahindra Bank tumbled nearly 4 percent despite reporting a 15 percent year-on-year increase in Q1 advances.

Dabur India fell about 1 percent on concerns whether the recent acceleration in business growth can be sustained.

Godrej Consumer Products advanced 1.3 percent after saying it expects high-teen consolidated revenue growth in Q1 FY27.
