IntegraMed® to Open 10 New Vein Clinics Across Seven States

IntegraMed America, Inc. (NASDAQ: INMD), the leader in developing, marketing and managing specialty healthcare facilities in the fertility and vein care markets, today announced it plans to accelerate the expansion of its vein care business footprint by 28%, with the opening of 10 new clinics across Connecticut, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. IntegraMed had previously targeted opening up to six additional vein clinics during 2010. Following a strategy of locating new vein clinics in nearby markets to create efficiencies in marketing, revenue cycle management and regional management, seven of the clinics will be located in states where the Company already has a presence, and the remainder, located in Connecticut, will mark the company’s entry into New England.

All of the clinics, which will operate under the "Vein Clinics of America” (VCA) brand, will offer VCA’s traditional suite of vein care services, with three clinics offering enhanced procedure capabilities including interventional radiology and gynecological procedures. Physicians, including interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons and OB/GYN specialists, have been recruited and executed contracts to staff each of the planned sites and will undergo VCA’s comprehensive training program prior to opening. The planned locations are:

VA   Dumfries   Traditional
TN   Brentwood   Enhanced with IR   Q4 2010
PA   Bensalem   Traditional

Dan Doman, President of VCA, commented, "Our vein clinic operations continue to perform strongly, including our two most recent clinic openings in the Maryland market which are off to very encouraging starts. We are eager to extend the scope of our vein care services into these new markets and are very pleased with the highly experienced team of physicians we have been able to recruit to lead these facilities. Physician recruitment can be a gating factor in our expansion, but it is clear that our expanded recruitment efforts over the past 12 months have played a vital role in helping highly qualified doctors to recognize the very attractive career opportunity we can offer them in leading one of our vein clinics.

"We are especially excited about the prospects for ‘enhanced’ clinics that offer a broader range of services than traditional vein clinics. We recently opened our first clinic of this type in Columbia, MD, where we have already seen very encouraging results. The ‘enhanced’ vein clinics require a board-certified interventional radiologist and a fluoroscope or ‘C-Arm’ X-ray imaging device to guide the procedures. They also require a slightly larger staff. The expanded footprint of these enhanced practices is also being utilized in our traditional high volume traditional practices. We believe these incremental investments will be more than offset by the additional base of patients, procedures and referral sources that this capability can provide.”

Jay Higham, IntegraMed’s President and CEO, commented, "We are very pleased with the contribution VCA has made to our growth since being acquired in 2007. We have taken a lot of time to fine tune the business and make key management additions to support its growth, and are now sufficiently confident that we can support an accelerated new clinic expansion. Importantly, this growth initiative is supported both by compelling demographics and strong consumer acceptance - which have led to the attractive returns we are achieving in this segment. Importantly, the stability and success our vein care business is also being recognized by top physicians who now see VCA as a great career opportunity in an exciting new area of specialty.”

"Given our experience, deep management infrastructure and strong balance sheet, we are well positioned to support growth initiatives across all segments of the company. We are confident these clinic openings, as well as growth initiatives in our fertility business, will deliver attractive returns to our shareholders.”

About Vein Disease:

Vein disease is a potentially serious medical condition, which, if ignored, may result in symptoms such as pain, fatigue, itching, burning and swelling. Patients may also experience throbbing and restlessness, feeling the need to constantly keep their legs moving. Left untreated by medical professionals, vein disease can worsen to become a major health issue.

Interventional Radiology is a subspecialty of radiology in which minimally invasive treatment or diagnostic procedures are performed using small catheters inserted into the body which are directed by external image guidance using live, intensified X-ray image produced by a Fluoroscope or "C-Arm.” The treatments, which require a highly skilled, board-certified Interventional Radiologist and state of the art equipment and imaging, address a broader array of procedures in new treatment areas including gynecology and urology. With IR techniques, IR certified physicians and their team will be able to assess and non-surgically treat diseases at their source - via the venous system, offering lower risk, lower cost, less pain and reduced recovery time compared to invasive surgeries.
