Intel And Altera Reportedly Resume Buyout Talks

(RTTNews) - Intel Corp. (INTC) and Altera corp. (ALTR) have resumed talks about a potential $13 billion-plus buyout after earlier negotiations between the two companies broke down, the New York Post reported.

Intel has been looking for growth beyond the struggling personal-computer market. A resolution of the discussions with Altera is expected within a few weeks, the report said.

CNBC reported in April that takeover talks between Intel and Altera ended after the companies failed to reach an agreement on price.

Intel reportedly bid about $54 per share for Altera in April.

INTC is currently trading at $32.88, down $0.11 or 0.34%.

ALTR is currently trading at $46.60, up $2.18 or 4.91%.
