Intergraph Acquires Alias Ltd.; Acquisition Expands Product Portfolio in Process, Power & Marine Division

Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR), a leading globalprovider of spatial information management (SIM) software, todayannounced that it has acquired Alias Ltd., a leading global providerof piping design automation software, based outside of Manchester,England. Alias (www.alias.ltd.uk) provides piping software automationsolutions, including the popular ISOGEN(R) product, to Intergraph andother vendors of 3D design software. Terms of the transaction were notdisclosed.

Alias' flagship product, ISOGEN, provides automatic pipingisometric drawing generation capability to the majority of 3D plantdesign and shipbuilding software users. ISOGEN is the recognizedleading system in automated production of high-quality pipingisometrics. In addition, Alias' products I-Sketch for the individualgeneration of isometrics and SPOOLGEN for the generation offabrication spool drawings are the leading solutions in their domains.I-Route, a promising new product, provides the ability toautomatically route pipes within a 3D model based on cost optimizationtechniques. Alias has been a successful Intergraph OEM partner since1993. The partnership began with ISOGEN, which is sold extensivelywith both SmartPlant 3D and PDS, and expanded with sales of I-Sketch,SPOOLGEN(R) and I-Route.
