Intergraph celebrated the achievement of a maintenance logistics environment lab in a ceremonial ribbon cutting

Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ:INGR), in conjunction with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), celebrated their official opening of the Logistics Information Technology and Maintenance Integration Solutions (LITMIS) Laboratory located onboard the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Maryland. The ceremonial ribbon cutting was held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, with opening remarks provided by Rear Adm. Michael Bachmann, AIR 3.0, Assistant Commander for Logistics. Before assembled guests, Rear Adm. Bachmann elaborated on Naval aviation maintenance and expressed his pleasure that the conception and completion of the LITMIS Lab occurred in an uncharacteristically short 18-month period. Following the ribbon cutting, individuals were able to view the LITMIS Lab during an open house.
The LITMIS Lab is the only logistics IT initiative that supports the re-engineering of existing logistics business processes, strengthening the Navy's migration to a fully integrated and interoperable logistics environment. The Lab assists Navy agencies and type commanders in facilitating the end-to-end testing of maintenance/logistics systems, hardware, software and processes. It is also capable of emulating near real-life situations encountered in the performance of maintenance and logistics functions within the acquisition, in-service support, fleet operations and maintenance, industrial support, wholesale supply and transportation business processes documented in the Naval Aviation Business Process Model. The capability to test within the Naval aviation maintenance and logistics environment ensures that logistics IT software releases and process changes are developed and tested in an integrated environment prior to deployment.
"For the first time Naval aviation will have a dedicated test capability for logistics information technology software and processes," remarked John Zydell, NAVAIR LITMIS Project Manager. "I am excited that our team will be able to provide an environment for integrated logistics systems testing, as well as an interface to the rest of the Naval aviation test and evaluation community."
