IONA Names Robert McBride Chief Financial Officer

IONA(R) Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader inhigh-performance integration solutions for mission-critical ITenvironments, today announced that Robert C. McBride, who has beenserving the company in an interim capacity since September 2005, hasbeen named Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. McBride becomesa permanent member of the company's executive management team. He willlead IONA's Finance organization and work closely with the Board ofDirectors to increase long-term shareholder value through theexecution of the company's business strategies.

Mr. McBride is on the Board of Directors of Arbor Networks andjoins IONA from Ascential Software, a $300 million company, where heserved as the Vice President and CFO. He also had a 17-year tenure atData General Corporation (now part of EMC Corporation), where heserved as vice president, chief administrative officer, corporatecontroller and corporate treasurer, among other senior financialmanagement positions. He also held a variety of senior managementpositions in the Information Systems and Finance areas of BurroughsCorporation and prior to that served as an Infantry Officer in theU.S. Army. Mr. McBride received a Master's Degree in businessadministration from Washington University and a Bachelor's Degree fromOhio Wesleyan University.
