J.B. Hunt Transport Q1 Profit Climbs

(RTTNews) - J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (JBHT) Monday announced first quarter net income of $102.70 million, slightly up from $100.09 million in the prior year. Earnings per share for the quarter increased to $0.92 from $0.88 last year.

On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.86 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter rose 7 percent to $1.629 billion from $1.528 billion a year ago. Wall Street was looking for $1.64 billion. Operating revenue climbed 2 percent, excluding fuel surcharges.
