JDL Technologies FastTrack Proves Security Can be Easy and Effective

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In the past few months, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights have issued several warnings about new ransomware, email spoofing, and spear phishing tactics being used against U.S. businesses and healthcare organizations.

Although victims of ransomware are often reluctant to report incidents, in 2016 businesses reported 157 data breaches affecting more than half a million records to the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, and healthcare organizations reported 279 data breaches affecting nearly four million records. The majority of incidents were the result of external hacking, including malware infections introduced to steal or compromise data. Malware is often launched into a network through a single end-user device, employing spear phishing or spoofed emails to trick the user into performing the desired action.
