SAN FRANCISCO, salesforce.com Appforce Conference, May 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salesforce.com , the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, and JotSpot, the first application wiki company, today announced the availability of JotSpot Tracker for salesforce.com's AppExchange. AppExchange, salesforce.com's on-demand platform, allows customers and partners to build powerful new applications quickly and easily, customize and integrate the Salesforce suite to meet their unique business needs, and distribute and sell on-demand applications at http://www.appexchange.com/. JotSpot Tracker delivers Excel-style spreadsheets on demand, making them accessible anywhere at anytime using a web browser. By making JotSpot Tracker available on the AppExchange, salesforce.com customers can now deploy JotSpot Tracker directly within their Salesforce implementation to easily track and collaborate on activities such as project deliverables, team contact information, and account planning across extended teams.
Salesforce.com provides on-demand business services to help manage and close sales. But once a deal is closed, teams must leave the convenience of Salesforce to implement the deal. Typically, team members return to the old method of using and emailing Excel spreadsheets to keep track of project schedules, client contact lists, and key account resources. These files get updated by various team members and then re-emailed, creating the problems of multiple and out-of-date versions, the inability to access these files remotely, and the likelihood that files get locked away on an individual's computer.
JotSpot Tracker, now integrated with Salesforce, transforms Excel spreadsheets into Web-based spreadsheets accessible and changeable via a standard Web browser. Because the information is stored centrally on the Web, JotSpot Tracker enables easy sharing with teams both inside and outside a company's firewall, ensures that the information in the spreadsheet is always up-to-date, and allows for access to the spreadsheet anywhere at anytime.
"Team collaboration is one of the most important challenges that can be addressed by on-demand solutions," said Adam Gross, vice president, developer marketing, salesforce.com. "JotSpot provides an excellent Web-based solution via the AppExchange for Salesforce customers who need 24/7 access to shared account resources."
"JotSpot Tracker is the first of several on-demand JotSpot applications that will be made available on salesforce.com's AppExchange," said Joe Kraus CEO, JotSpot. "We plan to deliver all of the collaborative services built on top of the JotSpot wiki platform, including a blogging application and JotSpot Live group note-taking, on AppExchange."
JotSpot Tracker for AppExchange is one of more than 250 applications created by salesforce.com, its customers and partners that are now available on the salesforce.com AppExchange, the world's first on-demand application platform. AppExchange provides unprecedented ease of customization and integration for Salesforce deployments, as well as enabling a whole new generation of on-demand applications that go beyond CRM. AppExchange enables all of these on-demand applications to be easily shared, exchanged and installed with one click into a customer's salesforce.com account. AppExchange can be found at http://www.salesforce.com/appexchange.
