Julius Baer Group Appoints Georg Hess as Head Public Affairs

The Julius Baer Group has appointed Georg Hess as Head Public Affairs with effect from 1 October 2010. This newly created role is designed to strengthen the company's dialogue with members of the political arena, the economy and society.
The aim of the newly created function of Head Public Affairs is to build on and enhance Julius Baer's existing public affairs work in order to strengthen its dialogue with members of the political arena, the economy and society and to actively contribute to decision-making processes. This includes the efforts of the Executive Board and the Board of Directors to support the formation of political opinion.
Georg Hess has many years of political experience. He has been a member of the Cantonal Government of the Canton of Schwyz since 2000 and assumed the role of President of the Government on 1 July 2008. He has managed its Finance Department since 2002. Georg Hess announced his resignation from his political posts on 9 February 2010. He will assume his new role at the Julius Baer Group on 1 October 2010.

Julius Baer has 15 branches in Switzerland, including in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Berne, St. Moritz and Lausanne.
