Juniper Networks Q3 Earnings Retreat 5%

(RTTNews) - Juniper Networks (JNPR) announced a profit for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its earnings dropped to $211.1 million, or $0.55 per share. This was lower than $222.0 million, or $0.58 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.55 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.6% to $1.26 billion. This was down from $1.28 billion last year.
