Kansas City Southern Announces 16% Rise In Q2 Profit
(RTTNews) - Kansas City Southern (KSU) reported a profit for its second quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $131.6 million, or $1.22 per share. This was higher than $113.7 million, or $1.03 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.03 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.0% to $568.5 million. This was down from $585.8 million last year.
