BALTIMORE, July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (KELLY) announced today that the Kelly family was presented with the Ernst & Young Family Business Award of Excellence as part of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year series. Cal Ripken, Jr., a close friend of the Kelly family, presented the Family Business Award of Excellence at a special awards gala held on June 26, 2013 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Accepting the award were KELLY's co-founders, The Honorable Francis X. Kelly and his wife Janet, and their four sons who now run the day-to-day operations of the business, Frank Kelly III, John Kelly, David Kelly and Bryan Kelly.

The Ernst & Young Family Business Award of Excellence recognizes leaders of outstanding entrepreneurial families with a culture and tradition of successfully balancing business and family issues, growing the business through innovation, and philanthropic or social engagement. This year's Family Business Award of Excellence was the first award of its kind to be presented in the Maryland region by Ernst & Young.
