Lamell McMorris honored by Washington Government Relations Group

WASHINGTON, July 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading government affairs expert and dynamic entrepreneur, Lamell McMorris, was honored Wednesday evening at the Washington Government Relations Group's (WGRG) Tin Cup Awards hosted at the La Maison Francaise in DC.

McMorris, founder and CEO of Perennial, a Washington, DC-based family of businesses, was presented with the President's Award for Career Achievement at the fourth annual awards dinner. The honor is bestowed annually to individuals who have embodied excellence in leadership, service, and professionalism in the African-American government affairs and political professional community. 

Cited for his instrumental work in opening doors of opportunity through inclusiveness, and for his advocacy for diversity, access, and inclusion in the profession, McMorris graciously accepted the award alongside the DC area's top business leaders, legislators and public policy experts. Fellow honorees included U.S. Senator Kristen Gillibrand, Congressman Greg Meeks, FCC Acting Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry, Lonnie Johnson, Art Collins and Jarvis Stewart.
