Legrand Continues to Strengthen Its Positions in the United States by Acquiring QMotion, a Specialist in Natural Light Control
Regulatory News:
LEGRAND (Paris:LR) is actively pursuing its development in the United States, the group’s #1 country by sales, and today announced the acquisition of QMotion, a specialist in natural light control for residential buildings.
QMotion offers solutions for managing day light through wireless local or remote control of automated shades, a market driven primarily by changing energy codes and consumers’ increasing willingness to reduce their energy consumption.
QMotion’s solutions are an ideal complement to Legrand’s lighting control offer in the United States, where the group holds leading positions in highly energy-efficient lighting control (Wattstopper) and high-end residential lighting control (Vantage). They will thus enable Legrand to offer solutions for both artificial and natural lighting control.
Based in Florida, QMotion has 80 employees and annual sales of around $16 million, of which 80% achieved in the United States.
