LexisNexis and NetDocuments Join Forces to Offer Hosted Document, Email and Records Management Services to the Legal Market
LexisNexis U.S. today announced an alliance with NetDocuments, theleading hosted document services provider, to exclusively offer theNetDocuments service to its law firm and corporate legal customers asa new component of LexisNexis(R) Managed Network Services. LexisNexisis a leading provider of information and services solutions.
The LexisNexis alliance with NetDocuments is the most recentaddition to the LexisNexis collection of practice management productsand services, and further supports the LexisNexis Total PracticeSolutions strategy. Total Practice Solutions help legal professionalsachieve excellence in both the business and practice of law byproviding better tools to increase productivity, profitability andgrowth. LexisNexis offerings are designed for the way legalprofessionals work, in all of the areas essential to their success,including Client Development, Research Solutions, Practice Managementand Litigation Services.
The alliance will facilitate deep integration betweenNetDocuments' innovative document management capabilities and otherLexisNexis solutions, including LexisNexis(R) Total Search. LexisNexisTotal Search, the award-winning integrated search tool designed tomake practitioners more efficient and effective, applies the precisionof LexisNexis searching capabilities and the exclusive authority ofShepard's(R) Citations Service to a law firm's internal documentcollections with deep links back to the LexisNexis(R) services.
Today's announcement includes several additional law firms whohave committed to the NetDocuments(R) service, including KennedyCovington Lobdell & Hickman, LLP, and Armstrong Allen, PLLC. Thesefirms will migrate their existing document management environment tothe LexisNexis hosted NetDocuments service and join existingNetDocuments customers, such as Dorsey & Whitney LLP, Lewis BrisboisBisgaard & Smith LLP, and Kutak Rock LLP.
Designed and developed as an on-demand document service for theWeb, the NetDocuments service is the first Software-as-a-Service(SaaS) offering for documents. The alliance between LexisNexis andNetDocuments will offer law firms of all sizes a fully-featureddocument and email management service with built-in extranetcapability, disaster recovery, archival and records managementservices. The NetDocuments' patented and scalable technology providesa centralized repository for documents, emails and records where lawfirms can have a single-repository "one firm view" acrossgeographically dispersed offices and access information from anyInternet-connected device, including Blackberry(R) and Outlook(R).
Managed from two redundant world-class hosting data centers,including the LexisNexis data centers, the NetDocuments SaaS modeldelivers enhancements to customers faster, is more reliable thantraditional software, reduces ownership costs, includes businesscontinuity, provides automatic backups and redundancy, and eliminatesthe need for product upgrades and maintenance rollouts.
