LifePoint Health Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - LifePoint Health Inc. (LPNT) reported that its net income attributable to the company for the second-quarter rose to $52.4 million or $1.33 per share from $42.5 million or $.03 per share last year.

When adjusted to exclude the second quarter 2018 and 2017 non-operational adjustments, adjusted net income for the second quarter ended June 30, 2018, was $52.4 million, compared to adjusted net income of $43.2 million for the same period last year, and adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter ended June 30, 2018, were $1.27, compared to adjusted earnings per share of $0.96 for the same period last year.

Same-hospital revenues increased $9.1 million, or 0.6%, to $1.57 billion from $1.56 billion last year. The increase in the Company's same-hospital revenues consisted of a 0.5% increase in same-hospital equivalent admissions and a 0.1% increase in same-hospital revenues per equivalent admission for the second quarter ended June 30, 2018, compared to the same period last year. When adjusted to exclude the impact of the transfer of the Company's home health and hospice service lines to IHHP, the Company's same-hospital revenues increased $13.3 million, or 0.8%, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2018, compared to the same period last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.08 per share and revenues of $1.59 billion for the second-quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For 2018, the company expects Adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $4.50 - $4.93, and revenues of $6.25 billion - $6.32 billion. Wall Street currently is looking for fiscal year 2018 earnings of $4.29 per share on annual revenues of $6.34 billion.
