Revenue Management and Price Optimization Conference
ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2005--Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:MANU), a global leading provider of synchronized supply chain and revenue management solutions, today announced its participation in the inaugural Revenue Management and Price Optimization Conference to be held at the Georgia Tech College of Management Center for Pricing and Revenue Management in Atlanta on April 21.
Co-developed by Manugistics and Georgia Tech in 2004, the Center is the premier venue to showcase the latest in dynamic pricing and revenue management techniques. Executives from some of the nation's top companies in the Travel, Hospitality and Retail industries, including Dillard's, Master Foods, and Marriott Corporation will come together to share revenue management success stories and valuable lessons learned.
The day-long conference will feature a retail panel discussion on the latest trends in retail pricing strategies, moderated by Manugistics Director of Consulting Services Dr. Jon Higbie. In addition, Manugistics Director of Development Suresh Acharya will participate on a Pricing and Revenue Management Software panel looking at the opportunities and challenges in retail revenue management.
"This conference addresses a core challenge facing businesses today - finding the best pricing solutions that facilitate quick and intelligent response to consumer demand," said Higbie.
Since 1997, Manugistics and Georgia Tech have worked together on numerous research projects and initiatives related to pricing and revenue management including the introduction of the MBA course 'Supply Chain and Revenue Management' in 2002, the 2004 inauguration of an MBA concentration in Enterprise Applications, and the establishment of the Center for Pricing and Revenue Management last year.
"We are proud to collaborate with Georgia Tech on initiatives that will educate both students and companies on the latest pricing mechanisms and how they are applied to today's business environment," said Manugistics Group Vice President of Revenue Management Ed Daihl. "Our company is passionate about infusing pricing and revenue management techniques into our unique approach to optimizing the consumer-driven supply chain. Working with universities like Georgia Tech is a great opportunity for us to bring pricing and revenue management techniques to a wide-range of audiences. The lessons learned and tested in the field will inevitably help companies meet the demands of the consumer-driven supply chain."
"In keeping with the mission outlined by the Center for Pricing and Revenue Management, Georgia Tech and Manugistics are committed to engaging the general business community and incorporating their strengths, challenges and vision into our programs.
