Marcus Theatres® To Host Inaugural CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival At South Shore Cinema, April 27-30

MILWAUKEE, March 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), has announced the inaugural Marcus CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival, to be held at Marcus South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, from Thursday, April 27, through Sunday, April 30. This is in partnership with local organizations including Aurora Health Care, the event's presenting sponsor. The four-day festival will offer Hispanic films, cultural food and beverages, and a variety of other special events/activities.

"As southeastern Wisconsin's Hispanic population continues to grow, Marcus Theatres is thrilled by the opportunity to celebrate movie entertainment that focuses on Hispanic culture with the city's first full CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival," said Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. "Plus, the festival aligns with our company's long history of giving back to the community. We are pleased to donate 50 percent of the festival's proceeds to support health and education efforts within our local Hispanic community."

The CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival will kick off with a VIP Special Event on Thursday, April 27 with the premiere of "How to Be a Latin Lover" featuring popular Hispanic favorites Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek. This red-carpet event will feature food stations with authentic menu items from El Rey, beverages courtesy of festival sponsor MillerCoors, and more. The VIP event is open to the public for $50 per person, with tickets available online at MarcusTheatres.com. Fifty percent of the event proceeds benefit Aurora Health Care Foundation.

"Aurora Health Care is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of this inaugural event in our community. We are proud of the many ways that our health care providers offer personalized care to our diverse populations," said Cristy Garcia-Thomas, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Aurora Health Care and President of Aurora Health Care Foundation. "The festival donations from Marcus Theatres will help fund the Aurora Cancer Care Spanish Speaking Clinic. This unique offering focuses specifically on our Hispanic patients and their families. It is the only clinic of its kind in the state, and one of the few in the nation."

The CineLatino Festival continues through Sunday, April 30, with select talk-backs, Hispanic food and beverage offerings, and special events like Family Day. Plus, with April 30 as Dia de los Niños (Day of the Child), several community groups are bringing free activities and offerings for young guests. In addition, the animated  movie "Sing" will be shown in Spanish to celebrate the day!

Over the course of the weekend, festivalgoers will enjoy Hispanic movies such as those listed below.
