Mark E. Easley, MD, Named AOFAS Vice President

Durham Orthopaedic Surgeon to Serve Leading Foot and Ankle Society

ROSEMONT, Ill., Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mark E. Easley, MD, associate professor of orthopaedic surgery for the Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, N.C., has been named vice president of the 2,027-member American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). Easley will focus much of his 14-month term on continuing to support a Society that has been instrumental in guiding his career.

Easley earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, Va., in 1992. He performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., and completed an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.

In addition to serving on the AOFAS board for the last two years, Easley has presented at AOFAS Annual Meetings, chaired the AOFAS Surgical Complications Course and served on several AOFAS committees both as committee member and chair.
