At its annual national users conference, MAXIMUS(NYSE:MMS) introduced SchoolMAX(R) Enterprise which combines provenmarket-leading functionality into a highly configurableenterprise-class software suite with intuitive user navigation, powerful tracking and reporting with the most dynamic systemintegration technology available. The introduction of SchoolMAX(R)Enterprise follows comprehensive testing, implementation, and use bythe Los Angeles Unified School District, in Los Angeles, California, supporting 291,718 students, 16,177 users, and 132 schools as ofFebruary 2006.

School Administrators and educators understand the complexity anddiversity of needs faced every day by K-12 School districts and statedepartments of education. From small rural school districts to thelargest urban districts, managing student data and meeting No ChildLeft Behind standards requires a data management system withincredible power and flexibility. It must be fast, easy to learn, easyto use, and capable of adapting to the unique needs of each districtor state.

"Districts are faced with increasingly complex demands formanaging and reporting educational information from a variety ofsources to meet an assortment of legal and educational imperatives. Atthe same time they are strapped with reduced technology budgets andfewer technical staff resources," said Lynn Davenport, MAXIMUS ChiefExecutive Officer. "SchoolMAX(R) Enterprise enables districts toreliably access and more effectively manage and report studentinformation. This system empowers educators early in the school yearby providing the data necessary to improve student results and schoolperformance."

To produce reports, many districts are saddled with a mixture ofantiquated and hard-to-use software tools that offer limited designsor merely provide "islands of information" in tracking studentinformation, daily and period attendance, grade reporting, and studentscheduling.

By contrast, SchoolMAX Enterprise (www.maximus.com/schoolmax) isan anywhere, anytime web-based application allowing role-based,password-protected shared access to complete student data across theentire district. Parents can access this system to monitor studentprogress. The system "will help bring an end to the days of the hardto use, patchwork student tracking and reporting systems that mostdistricts are using today," Davenport noted.

The upgraded architecture builds upon the already feature-richoriginal SchoolMAX(R) software system. "We believe SchoolMAXEnterprise has the richest feature set and the most powerfulcapabilities in the market. It's truly enterprise-class," saidDavenport.
