Men's Wearhouse Launches National Suit Drive

Mens Wearhouse (NYSE:MW), the leading specialty retailer of men's dress apparel in North America, today announces their first ever National Suit Drive campaign dedicated to empowering unemployed men by providing them with professional work attire that will build their self-esteem and make a good first impression during job interviews. Throughout the September 1 October 31, 2008 time period, men nationwide are encouraged to donate their gently used suits, sport coats, slacks, dress shirts, ties and belts to help other men re-enter the workforce and take back control of their lives.

During the National Suit Drive campaign, men can bring their professional clothing donations to any Mens Wearhouse location across the country. The National Suit Drive will engage all 580 Mens Wearhouse stores participating and will gather and distribute clothing to more than 120 local and regional non-profit organizations in cities across the country. "Over the last decade, Mens Wearhouse has actively been working with organizations across the country to help disadvantaged men restore the confidence they need to re-enter the workforce, and we certainly know the difference a suit can make," said George Zimmer, chairman of Mens Wearhouse. "This year, we wanted to extend these efforts on a national level so we could help even more men across the country and make a difference for disadvantaged men who are taking steps toward self-sufficiency.

Each year, Mens Wearhouse works with non-profit groups and corporations across the country to gather and distribute donated professional clothing. Most recently, Mens Wearhouse spearheaded the annual Capitol PurSuit Drive in Washington, D.C. gathering more than 10,000 clothing items in just one day. To date, more than 65,000 suits, sports coats, slacks and accessories have been donated by consumers through regional and state suit drives and initiatives spearheaded by Mens Wearhouse over the past nine years.

"We are very excited to work together with Mens Wearhouse on the National Suit Drive campaign, said Jerri Rosen, Founder of Working Wardrobes in Fountain Valley, California. "The proper attire can truly make a difference in an individuals life. With these donations, men will have the opportunity to walk into an interview with confidence an essential step toward economic stability. We hope to provide even more men with that opportunity through this initiative, along with the network of support, career development tools, job placement assistance and job retention follow-up that non-profit organizations like ours provide to these men.

"The National Suit Drive is a tremendous initiative centered around the idea that we all deserve a second chance, said Zimmer. "Being compassionate and respectful of one another are two key values embedded within the Mens Wearhouse corporate culture. The National Suit Drive supports our companys goals and the missions of our non-profit and other partner organizations to improve the lives of disadvantaged men. We are grateful for the opportunity to launch such a campaign and look forward to its success through the support of all involved.
