Mettler-Toledo Int'l Q1 Profit Up - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Mettler-Toledo International Inc. (MTD) Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $58.05 million or $1.93 per share, up from $52.54 million or $1.69 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $2.00 per share. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.98 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Sales increased 4 percent to $550.6 million from $524.4 million last year. Analysts expected sales of $538.10 million.
For the second quarter, the company has forecast adjusted earnings in the range of $2.50 to $2.55 per share. Analysts currently expect second-quarter earnings of $2.59 per share.
Looking ahead to the fiscal 2014, the company currently projects adjusted earnings in the range of $11.45 to $11.60 per share, compared to its previous guidance range of $11.40 to $11.60 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $11.61 per share.
