Micromuse Joins United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation to Help Drive National and Homeland Security Intelligence Agenda; Adds Business Intelligence Knowledge to Diverse Group to Build Resources

    SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2005--Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq: MUSE), the leading provider of ultra-scalable, realtime business and service assurance software, today announced that it has joined the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) to support a mutual goal of improving the country's national and homeland security through sharing best practices. USGIF is a non-profit organization that brings together the key players in government, industry, academic and professional organizations to collaborate on the advancement of a geospatial intelligence agenda designed to enhance resources available to address national security objectives.

    The mission of the USGIF is to serve the many disciplines involved in the geospatial intelligence community, and to develop a stronger partnership between government, industry, academic and professional organizations and individuals involved in the development and application of geospatial intelligence data and the deployment of geo-processing resources. The USGIF aims to promote geospatial intelligence by conducting and sponsoring education programs and developing scholarships, as well as publishing and distributing educational publications.
