Mirion Technologies to Provide Wireless Remote Monitoring System to South Korean Nuclear Power Plant
The Mirion Technologies Health Physics Division has been awarded a contract to supply a wireless remote monitoring (WRM) teledosimetry system to the Shin Wolsung 1 nuclear power plant in South Korea operated by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.
The WRM2, from Mirion’s MGP Instruments product line, is a Multi-Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum teledosimetry system for remote personnel and area monitoring applications. This compact, ruggedized system offers the flexibility of indoor or outdoor applications. The system provides high visibility LED, audible and vibration alarm indications for increased worker awareness within radiological environments and is compatible with the MGP Instruments line of air monitors and portable instruments.
"We are very pleased to have received this contract to supply Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power,” said Antony Besso, President of Mirion’s Health Physics Division. "Korea continues to be an important growth market for us, and our new teledosimetry systems enhance the value of our core dosimetry products.”
