Becoming an ICLEI member starts with an evaluation of virtually every process and practice in the day-to-day work of delivering vital local government services. Members work to advance deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and achieve tangible improvements in local sustainability.
The Water Stewardship awards were presented by Missouri Department of Natural Resources Director Sarah Parker Pauley and Missouri American Water President Frank Kartmann.
"The St. Louis area is defined by our rivers – the Mississippi, the Missouri and the Meramec,” said Missouri American Water President Frank Kartmann. "We believe that every environmental improvement that we make – as cities, businesses and nonprofits – represents a promise that we’re making to protect the future of our water resources.”
