Mobile Video Of Terrifying Last Moments Of Germanwings Retrieved: Reports
(RTTNews) - The last moments of the doomed Germanwings plane, that was deliberately hit to the Alps, was recorded in a mobile phone, German newspaper Bild and French Magazine Paris Match reported. The video is presumed to be taken from the cabin, using a mobile device. The investigators recovered the memory card from the crash site, though the mobile was destroyed completely. However, there is no official confirmation about the recovery of a video from the site.
The media reports said the footage is shaky, but the sounds of the passengers screaming, after recognizing the plight of the aircraft, can be heard clearly. The terrified passengers were crying "Oh, God" in different languages.
Paris Match also published the conversation from the cockpit recorded by one of the black boxes. As per the transcript, Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz locked Captain Patrick Sondenheimer out of the cockpit as soon as he left for the washroom and the plane started its descent in just five minutes after the captain left the cockpit.
Sondenheimer recognized the danger when the flight reached 3000 feet from a height of 38000 feet and tried to talk to the co-pilot through a cockpit camera. The first alarm was heard at 10.34 am asking to pull up the plane. The sounds of passengers running can be heard then. At 10.37 am second alarm was set off, with the warning "Terrain, Pull up."
The captain yells and deafening voices can be heard from outside along with screaming from inside the plane. A violent sound sound was heard at 10.40 am, probably when the right wing of the Airbus 320 hit the mountain. The video ends at 10.41 am when the plane crashed at a speed of 800 kilometer per hour.
