Nassau County And Hofstra University To Honor Famed Actor-Director With Lifetime Achievement Award

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano will join with officials from Hofstra University in honoring Hollywood legend Robert Davi at a luncheon being held on August 29, 2013 at 2:00p.m. He will be presented with the Long Island Television and Film Commission's Life Achievement Award.  Mr. Davi, a Hofstra University graduate, is returning home to perform before thousands of local residents at a concert in Eisenhower Park.  The luncheon is being sponsored by the Nassau County Film Commission at the Hofstra University Club.

The acclaimed actor, director and singer has been featured in hundreds of movies including Die Hard, Son of the Pink Panther, The Goonies, Show Girls and the James Bond Classic License to Kill.  He has worked with the biggest names in Hollywood – Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Benicio del Toro, James Franco, Catherine Zeta-Jones,  Bruce Willis and Roberto Benigni, among others.  He has been selected to appear in the upcoming Sylvester Stallone blockbuster film, Expendables 3.
