National Mobile Shower and Catering Association Prepared for COVID-19 Response
NEW YORK, March 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Mobile Shower and Catering Association (NMSCA) is prepared to mobilize resources in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). NMSCA is the largest mobile food service and shower service provider in the world, with the ability to produce over a million meals per day for emergency, disaster, wildfire and pandemic response.
Mobile kitchen units and crews can be mobilized to any location in the United States within 48 to 72 hours. Members of the association represent over 40 years of experience with government contracts during times of crisis, and have developed unique insight into logistics and supply chain requirements in unsystematic environments. Each mobile kitchen unit can produce up to 10,000 hot meals per day and as many as 20,000 cold meals.
NMSCA contacted food supply product vendors who provided assurance that there is no shortage or disruption of food supplies at this point of the COVID-19 dilemma.
Mobile shower units are also available for immediate delivery to response basecamps at any location.
Every company involved with NMSCA has already been approved for government contract work. Each contractor is mobile and can set up services anywhere, while at the same time maintaining the highest quality of product satisfaction and safety standards.
NMSCA has alerted the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies of the association's ability to join efforts to provide food service and emergency response basecamp support if needed.
Resources, including mobile kitchens, mobile showers/sinks, mobile laundry units, potable and grey water trucks, can be mobilized in strategic locations for both the general public, and for emergency, medical and disaster response teams.
NMSCA members welcome local food service workers who have been displaced from jobs due to restaurant closures to apply for temporary employment during relief efforts.
