DURHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 2005--Netopia has equipped the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) with high-throughput wireless routing through the donation of six wireless routing devices, the laboratory has announced.
The laboratory will use Netopia's 3387WG high-throughput wireless routers to upgrade the laboratory's wireless infrastructure. The devices will not be used for testing, but will route internal wireless network traffic for roughly 125 potential users in an approximately 25,000 square-foot portion of the UNH-IOL facility.
"The UNH-IOL has earned a strong reputation for serious work with many of the most prominent companies in the networking industry, and we are very pleased to be working closely with this laboratory to improve its wireless network's performance," said Dano Ybarra, senior vice president, sales and marketing of Netopia.
Netopia's 3387WG high-throughput wireless gateway utilizes two radio antennas specifically tuned for both vertical and horizontal range providing seamless wireless coverage with no dropped connections or dead zones. It combines an ADSL or Ethernet wide area networking (WAN) interface with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(TM) wireless and Ethernet networking into a single broadband networking solution.
"Netopia's generous donation of these 3387WG units is a much-appreciated boost to our wireless infrastructure," said Matthew Langlois, DSL Consortium manager. "The product's GUI interface is intuitive, configuration and installation were easy, and performance promises to be excellent."
