NRG Energy Posts Profit In Full-year - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NRG Energy Inc. (NRG) Thursday reported net income available to common stockholders of 78 million or $0.23 per share for the year ended December 31, 2014, compared to a net loss of $395 million or $1.92 per share in the year-ago period.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.83 per share for the year. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenues rose to $15.87 billion from $11.30 billion, last year, while analysts expected it to be $14.81 billion.

For fiscal 2015, the firm is reaffirming its adjusted EBITDA of $3.2 million - $3.4 million, which excludes a projected negative contribution of $100 million MM from the company's growing NRG Home Solar business.
