NTT Com To Open Shanghai Pudong Data Center On Nov 20 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NTT Communications Corp., the ICT solutions and international communications business of telecom firm Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. or NTT (NTT), Wednesday announced that its Shanghai Pudong Data Center in the Pudong Development Zone of Shanghai, China will begin operating on November 20.

The center, NTT Com's third data center in Shanghai, will offer approximately 2,600 m of server room, equivalent to 1,000 racks. Further, the Data Center will be NTT Com's first data center in China capable of total-service design, construction and operation for customers.

The Center is a highly disaster-proof facility featuring redundant power supply, air conditioning and communication route. It offers 99.9999 percent power availability and 10kVA/rack high-density power provision. Highly efficient operation will enable the facility to lower its costs by approximately 20 percent compared to other data centers in the Shanghai area.

NTT Com said it expects its new facility to help meet the increasing demand for reliable, advanced data center services in the Chinese data center market, which grew 20 percent the previous year.

The company noted that it is expanding its data center services in China to include colocation as well as primary cloud services, such as its Enterprise Cloud. NTT Com offers next-generation data center services under the Nexcenter brand.
