OncoGenex Posts Loss; Stock Down 8%

(RTTNews) - OncoGenex Pharmaceuticals Inc (OGXI ) on Thursday reported second-quarter net loss of $6 million or $0.26 per share compared with a loss of $7 million or $0.47 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.34 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter were $4.03 million compared with $4.9 million in the prior year.

Analysts estimated revenues of $21.4 million for the quarter.

The company's expenses were lower at $9.6 million compared with $12.6 million last year.

As of June 30, the company's cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments increased to $60.2 million from $47.1 million as of December 2014 .
