Orange's Business Services Unit Inks Deals With Samsung, Carrefour Franchise
(RTTNews) - Orange Business Services, a division of French telecom major Orange SA (ORAN), previously known as France Telecom, Thursday announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with South Korean conglomerate Samsung Electronics (SSNLF.PK).
Separately, Orange Business Services said that it has won a contract renewal with Middle East-based MAF-Carrefour Hypermarkets, the regional franchise for French grocery retailer Carrefour Group (CRERF.PK, CRRFY.PK, 0NPH.L).
Under its partnership with Samsung, the companies will develop the professional use of tablets and services to help companies leverage the benefits of this device across Europe, with specific emphasis on Belgium, France, Poland and Spain.
Orange said that it will join together with Samsung Electronics to combine their complementary services, ecosystems and expertise to co-develop innovative solutions for businesses. Orange and Samsung will mainly focus on two key areas, such as Tablets and Security.
Orange and Samsung plan to work together on seamlessly integrating Orange services within Samsung tablets for the enterprise market. Further, Samsung KNOX, an end-to-end security solution, will be integrated into Orange's Mobile Device Management solution.
Thierry Bonhomme, CEO, Orange Business Services, said, "The Orange Business Services - Samsung partnership enables enterprises to seize this opportunity and is part of our ambition to support companies' digital transformation."
Regarding its deal with MAF-Carrefour, Orange said it will offer new managed network services in the Middle East & Africa. The 3-year, multimillion dollar contract extends the international network services agreement provided by Orange.
The company said the additional managed services will allow MAF-Carrefour to focus more on its core business operations. The company would also provide consultancy services in addition to international connectivity covering 72 sites across 13 countries in the Middle East and Africa and Caucasus region.
In Paris, Orange shares are currently trading at 9.22 euros, down 0.07 euros or 0.79 percent. Samsung shares gained around 2.6 percent in South Korea trading.
