Origin Blocked In Myanmar

(RTTNews) - Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) has temporarily blocked Origin-based games in Myanmar.

Myanmar is not the only country where Origin has been blocked, EA has blocked it in Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria and Ukraine.

Reddit user trivial_sublime, a Myanmar resident, posted that his attempt to log in to his Origin account was met with an "access denied" message. The user later found that EA's digital platform was no longer available in the country.

Some believe that the block has to do with EA complying with economic sanctions imposed on Myanmar. However, President Obama has lifted trade sanctions on Myanmar, effective October 7.
