Plastic Omnium: Strategic Acquisitions in the Hydrogen Field

Regulatory News:

Today, Plastic Omnium (Paris:POM) announces two strategic acquisitions in the field of propulsion by hydrogen fuel cells:

  • Swiss Hydrogen, a Swiss company based in Fribourg, is specialized in the design and production of solutions for the management and control of energy in fuel cell systems dedicated to mobility ("balance of plant").
  • Optimum CPV, a Belgian company based in Zonhoven, is specialized in the design and production of tanks in filament composite for the storage of pressurized hydrogen.

After the Israeli company ?PO-CellTech was set up in 2016 in the field of fuel cells and the Group joined the "Hydrogen Council" steering committee, these two acquisitions reinforce the positioning of Plastic Omnium as an electric propulsion player.

All these new businesses, which should be enriched in the coming months and which already have more than 130 engineers, will be combined into a new entity and Management, "Plastic Omnium New Energies", within the Storage and Propulsion division - Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy.

Plastic Omnium is the world leader in automotive exterior components and modules, automotive fuel systems, and waste container solutions for local authorities and companies. The Group has 33,000 employees across 124 plants, 23 R&D center s and 31 countries worldwide, serving 74 automotive brands. Plastic Omnium is listed on Euronext Paris, compartment A. It is eligible for the Deferred Settlement Service (SRD) and is part of the SBF 120 and CAC Mid 60 indices (ISIN code: FR0000124570).
