Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (PLCE) is rising 6 percent to $54.46. The company's second quarter net loss widened from the previous year period. Net sales increased 6.0 percent and topped Street view. The company forecast third quarter adjusted earnings per share above analysts' estimate. The company also raised its fiscal 2013 adjusted earnings per share guidance.

SunEdison, Inc (SUNE) is gaining over 11 percent to $7.60. The company announced that its board has approved an initial public offering of its semiconductor business to create SunEdison Semiconductor, Inc. The company expects to use proceeds from the separation to fund initiatives related to the solar business, to repay existing indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.

Hain Celestial Group, Inc. (HAIN) is up 7 percent to $78.00 following the release of its quarterly results.

Decliners:

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF) is plunging 19 percent to $37.82. The company's second quarter profit declined from the previous year period and missed analysts' estimate. Net sales fell 1 percent from the year-ago quarter and missed the consensus estimate by a wide margin. The company said its second quarter was more difficult than expected due to weaker traffic and continued softness in the female business. The company provided a weak outlook for third quarter and added that it is not providing guidance beyond the third quarter due to a lack of visibility given recent traffic trends.

Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD) is down 8 percent to $39.63. The company's second quarter loss widened from the previous year period. Revenues for the quarter declined due mainly to the effect of having fewer Kmart and Sears Full-line stores in operation.
