Pre-market Movers For May 1 (CVX, CVS, AIG, ALTR, ENOC, LNKD, V)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Chevron Corp. (CVX) is rising nearly 1 percent to as its first quarter earnings as well as sales and other operating revenues topped Wall Street view, despite falling from the year-ago quarter. The company attributed its first quarter earnings decline to sharply lower oil prices, which reduced revenue and earnings in its upstream business. Chevron said it is responding to the current price environment by capturing cost reductions.
CVS Health Corp. (CVS) is rising over 1 percent to $100.60 as the company's first quarter results were above Street view. At the same time, the company forecast second quarter ernings below consensus and raised the low end of its 2015 earnings guidance range.
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is up six-tenths of a percent to $56.60. The company's first quarter profit surged from the year-ago quarter and topped Street view. The company also announced its plan to buyback additional shares of Common Stock with an aggregate purchase price of up to $3.5 billion.
EnerNOC, Inc. (ENOC) is rising 20 percent to $13.25 based on the news that it will collaborate with Tesla (TSLA) on the deployment and management of energy storage systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
Altera Corp. (ALTR) is up 5 percent to $43.99.
Decliners:
LinkedIn Corp. (LNKD) is plunging 20 percent to $201.80 as it forecast second quarter result sharply below Street view and slashed its full-year 2015 forecast. The company's first quarter net loss widened from the year-ago quarter, while its non-GAAP earnings topped estimates by a penny. Revenue for the first quarter rose 35 percent and managed to come above market view.
Visa Inc. (V) is down 1 percent to $65.20. The company's second quarter earnings declined from the prior year quarter, while its net operating revenue improved 8 percent. While reaffirming 2015 outlook for constant dollar revenue growth of low double digits, Visa said it now expects earnings per share growth at the low-end of the previously guided mid-teens range.
