Berlin / Teltow, 20.03.2014 - The Lunch Symposium held by co.don AG on regenerative joint preservation was one of the highlights of this year's Hip Seminar at the Charité hospital in Berlin. The specialists present heard about the bio-pharma company's minimally invasive and joint preserving methods from the experienced hip specialists PD Dr. med. Fickert, Sporthopaedicum Straubing and Dr. med. Möckel, Asklepios Klinik Birkenwerder, in a presentation entitled "The third dimension of ACT - matrix-associated chondrocyte transplantation with spheroids". In the event of a cartilage defect in the hip joint, cartilage cells are removed from the patient, cultivated in a special laboratory and then returned to the defect. Over time the transplanted cells form a new layer of cartilage, which means there is often no need for an artificial hip replacement.

The "Hüftkurs Charité" from 20-22 March will gather leading experts from all over Europe in Berlin to exchange views on diagnostics and therapeutic methods for hip disorders.
