Quest Software Expands Its Identity and Access Management Offerings; Signs Agreement with Evidian and Completes PassGo Technologies Acquisition

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced two major additions to its expanding portfolio of identity and access management solutions. Quest entered into a Software License and Distribution Agreement with Evidian for world-wide distribution of its universal enterprise single sign-on product. In addition, Quest completed the acquisition of PassGo Technologies, acquiring its web access management, privilege management and one-time password token products. Together, they expand Quest’s ability to deliver solutions that help simplify identity and access management in the heterogeneous environment. "We are consistently hearing from our customers that they want to enhance security, improve efficiency, and achieve compliance in managing identities throughout their collection of diverse systems and applications,” said Jackson Shaw, senior director, product management, Quest Software. "The addition of enterprise single sign-on from Evidian and products from PassGo to Quest’s Vintela single sign-on solutions for Unix, Linux, Mac and Java dramatically improve Quest’s ability to help organizations achieve those goals. We now offer the first cross-platform solution set that can effectively address an organization’s need to authenticate, authorize, administer, and comply – no matter how diverse their systems are.” Enterprise Single Sign-on Evidian’s enterprise single sign-on product will be offered under the Quest brand as Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on. The product provides single sign-on to any application or system with no additional infrastructure. Quest Enterprise Single Sign-On enhances security and improves efficiency because it authenticates using existing identities and does not require application-specific agents enabling organizations to achieve single sign-on to virtually any platform or application. "Today, organizations need access control and single sign-on solutions that plug the gaps between identity and access management infrastructures and business policies,” said Hassan Maad, chief operating officer, Evidian. "The combination of the Evidian best of breed enterprise single sign-on technology with the market strengths of Quest will provide many more organizations the opportunity to select a proven and flexible approach to one of the most complex challenges in identity and access management. The partnership with Quest achieves a key milestone in expanding our market reach in North America and beyond.” Defender for Multifactor Authentication PassGo Defender is an integral part of Quest’s single sign-on strategy as most organization want to protect end users’ passwords from misuse to the greatest extent possible. Defender was recently awarded five stars by SC Magazine and was named "Best Buy” in the Multifactor Authentication group test. (www.quest.com/quest_site_assets/pdf/sc_review_defender_020708.pdf). The recent "Best Buy” win underscores Defender’s strength in the multifactor authentication market. In November 2007, PassGo announced joint support with RSA, The Security Division of EMC, on the System z platform for the latest RSA SecurID® AES token. This enables customers to take advantage of any standards-based token as well as RSA tokens across a wide variety of platforms including Windows, Unix, Linux and mainframes. In addition to Defender, PassGo’s Privilege Manager for Unix, SafeKeeping, Webthority and InSync products will play important roles in Quest’s offerings to help simplify identity and access management. The PassGo products and Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on continue to help simplify identity and access management needs for Active Directory-centric, heterogeneous environments. These solutions broaden Quest’s portfolio that includes provisioning and deprovisioning, authorization, auditing, managing passwords and extending all of these capabilities to Unix, Linux, Mac and Java systems and applications.
