Regions Financial Q3 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Regions Financial Corp. (RF) reported third quarter of 2013 net income available to common shareholders of $285 million, down from last year's $301 million, with earnings per share declining to $0.20 from $0.21 in the prior year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.21 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net interest income for the quarter improved to $824 million from the previous year's $817 million, while Non-interest income declined to $495 million from $533 million in the prior year.

Total revenue for the quarter slipped to $1.319 billion from $1.350 billion in the prior year quarter. Fifteen analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $1.32 billion for the quarter.
