The San Francisco Estuary Partnership is a coalition of resource agencies, non-profits, citizens, and scientists working to protect, restore, and enhance water quality and fish and wildlife habitat in and around the San Francisco Bay Delta Estuary. The Partnership is a program of the Association of Bay Area Governments. Working cooperatively, the Partnership shares information and resources that result in studies, projects, and programs that improve the Estuary and communicate its value and needs to the public. Ranging from the waterways that make up the Delta to the mouth of the Pacific Ocean, the San Francisco Bay-Delta is home to numerous species of birds, fish, and many others. It is also home to millions of people, who have come to recognize that the Bay and Delta are an essential part of what makes the Bay Area a great place to live, work and play.
Founded in 1961, ABAG is the regional planning agency for the nine counties and 101 cities and towns of the Bay Area and is recognized as the first council of governments in California.
