Richard Fraley and Louis Jones Join Samson Resources Corporation
TULSA, Okla., July 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Samson Resources Corporation announced today that Richard Fraley and Louis Jones have joined the company in the respective positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development, New Ventures and Portfolio Management, effective immediately.
Mr. Fraley has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He most recently worked as a Managing Director for the Energy Mezzanine Opportunities Fund, focusing on upstream and midstream oil and gas opportunities for The Carlyle Group. Mr. Fraley spent the majority of his career at Burlington Resources where he held officer level positions including the company's Chief Engineer and then Vice President of International Operations. He subsequently ran the company's largest operating division in the San Juan Basin for both Burlington and then ConocoPhillips after the merger of the companies. Prior to Burlington, he worked at Superior Oil and Mobil for six years. Mr. Fraley received his B.S. in Geological Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He will be located in the Denver Office and split his time between Denver, Tulsa and Houston.

Mr. Jones has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as well. For the past 20 years, Mr. Jones worked for Hess Corporation and most recently held the position of Vice President, Global New Business Development before retiring in May 2013. While in that position, he oversaw Hess' entry and expansion in several key resource plays which included the Bakken and Ohio Utica. Prior to that role Mr. Jones was the Vice President Development, Unconventional Resources, and Vice President, Americas Production. Mr. Jones has served as a board member for various oil and gas associations and advisory boards, including Chairing the Department of Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board at Texas Tech University. Prior to Hess, Mr. Jones worked at Meridian Oil Company for 4 years and Tenneco Oil Company for 12 years. He received his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University. Mr. Jones will be located in The Woodlands Office and split his time between Houston, Tulsa and Denver.
