Richard Lindquist Will Join HSBC To Lead High-Yield Investments Team

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2005--Richard Lindquist will join HSBC's asset management unit as managing director and head of U.S. high yield. Based in New York, Lindquist will report to Gregg Diliberto, global head of fixed income. Lindquist and Diliberto will be part of HSBC Halbis Partners, a specialized investment business HSBC is creating. The formation of HSBC Halbis Partners, announced in December, is pending necessary legal and regulatory approvals.
Lindquist has 21 years of high yield experience and will join HSBC from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he has served as a managing director and head of that firm's high-yield bond team. The team to be managed by Lindquist will be created by six additional hires with considerable experience in U.S. high yield. Misia Dudley, Philip Schantz, Mary Ann Thomas and John Tobin will join as senior vice presidents. John Dessauer and Michael Dugan will join as vice presidents. These six professionals also will join from Credit Suisse Asset Management.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Lindquist held positions with the Prudential Insurance Company of America and T. Rowe Price. Lindquist, a chartered financial analyst, is a graduate of Boston College and holds an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He won the Lipper Analytical Services Award for the best-performing fixed income mutual fund in 1988 and 1993.
