Rite Aid July Same Store Sales Rise 2.4% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Retail drugstore chain operator Rite Aid Corp. (RAD) Thursday said that for the four weeks ended July 25, same store sales increased 2.4 percent over the prior-year period.

July front-end same store sales increased 0.1 percent. Pharmacy same store sales, which included a 221 basis points negative impact from new generic introductions, increased 3.4 percent.

Prescription count at comparable stores increased 0.7 percent over the prior-year period.

Total drugstore sales for the four-week period increased 2.1 percent to $2.016 billion from $1.975 billion for the same period last year.

Prescription sales accounted for 69.2 percent of drugstore sales, and third party prescription sales represented 97.8 percent of pharmacy sales.
