SCANA Corp. Profit Retreats 82% In Q3

(RTTNews) - SCANA Corp. (SCG) announced earnings for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit came in at $34 million, or $0.24 per share. This was down from $189 million, or $1.32 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.19 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 0.9% to $1.08 billion. This was down from $1.09 billion last year.
